Three Dimensional Design Allows Nurses Input Property Tectonics (pt) has started work on the development of generic "modular" reception desk design for Nurses Stations across the University Hospital of South Manchester with the aim of updating all of the existing stations with a consistent design that are compliant with good hospital working practices and current DDA legislation. Property Tectonics used its 3-Dimensional design skills to help in enabling "non-technical" Ward Managers and the Estate Team to grasp the design concepts more readily and provide necessary feedback. In this was the function and design of the stations fitted everyone’s requirements and expectations. This also allowed for the design and configuration of the reception desks to be changed to suit a range of different ward situations across the hospital. Phil Beswick from pt said "The challenge was to enable non technical customers to see easily and comment upon design proposals before manufacture, but our three dimensional design capability allowed nursing staff who understand how Nursing Station design works to give their feedback very quickly." |
