Tameside General Hospital, Replacement of Kitchen Floor Finishes

Tameside General Hospital is to undergo a complete wall and floor finish replacement in their busy kitchen. The hospital kitchen provides a 'cook on the day' service to all 535 beds within the hospital and the scheme is, therefore, particularly sensitive and high profile within the hospital. It is essential that the continued operation of the kitchen throughout the phased programme of work is maintained and that all environmental and food hygiene standards are met; maintaining infection control standards and avoiding cross contamination.

Property Tectonics was selected to provide this service for Tameside Hospital NHS Foundation Trust as it could deliver a detailed programme of "transition activities" which can take place on an "out of hours" basis to ensure the transition from one phase of work to another, involving detailed liaison with the hospital catering management and estates teams. In this way, pt could provide decanting arrangements and temporary facilities to allow for the continued operation of the kitchen whilst the work to replace the wall and floor finishes could be carried out.

Property Tectonics has a multi-disciplined design team to support the £.75m project which will start in December 2008, providing their experienced building surveyors and M&E engineers to ensure that the project is completed with the minimal of disruption to the hospital catering staff and patients who rely on this important service.
