Our History

The practice was established in November 1987 as Chartered Building Surveyors. In November 1990 the partnership was enlarged to create a multi-disciplinary practice of Building Surveyors, Architects and Structural Engineers. In 1995 the range of services offered to customers was further extended to include Health & Safety and Town Planning. The practice incorporated as a private limited company on 1st April 2000.

Corporate Approved Inspector, pt Building Standards Ltd, was established in 1999 and is one of the few private companies in the country authorised by the Construction Industry Council as agents for the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister to provide building control services and approvals under the Building Regulations.

Property Tectonics has focused on providing multi-disciplinary services to existing buildings. The business has the necessary specialism’s to ensure that it can fully support people responsible for built assets so that they receive maximum benefit and efficiency from occupation and ownership. The work of pt Building Standards Ltd, whilst concerned with new developments and new work to existing buildings, is consistent with pt’s ‘building performance’ ethos. The emphasis in building control is ensuring buildings are constructed to good standards and deliver quality in operation.
