Innovation and Progresspt held its annual National User Group Conference (NUGC)this week at the Hilton, Manchester for our Lifespan Housing software users. This is the 4th year that the conference has been held and was the biggest so far. Over fifty customers from Housing Associations and Local Councils from across the country came to Manchester to attend the conference. The event has proved to be very popular and provides a tremendous opportunity for our customers and our software developers to share information and discuss any current issues and future developments. This year, the conference theme was innovation and progress and was addressed by Professor Peter Brandon who is Professor Emeritus in the School of the Built Environment, University of Salford. He has written widely on a number of topics including building economics, construction management, construction information technology and sustainable development. He has managed projects worth several million pounds largely in the field of Information Technology Applied to Construction and construction management. He has just been named as one of the top 100 people influencing sustainable development in the world today. Mr Andrew Eagles also joined us from SHIFT - Sustainable Homes Index For Tomorrow. Andrew is a licensed trainer of Code for Sustainable Homes assessors. He assists in managing the delivery of the Sustainable Homes Index For Tomorrow 2008 which offers an assessment of the sustainability of the work local authorities and housing associations are doing to adapt to and mitigate climate change. Our delegates were wowed with a futuristic gaze into the technologies of tomorrow as well as being informed about legislation and compliance for today. |
