North Wales Housing Association bags Property Tectonics Prize

Manchester-based consultancy Property Tectonics (pt) recently sponsored the category for ‘Increasing Environmental Sustainability’ at the Welsh Housing Awards.

The annual Chartered Institute of Housing Cymru Awards were held in Cardiff recently and pt gave their award to the North Wales Housing Association.

The event was presented by Jocelyn Davies AM, Deputy Minister for Housing, who praised all the short listed entries for the positive contribution they are making as organisations and individuals.

The award recognised North Wales Housing Association for addressing the environmental impact of their existing stock, as well as their own organisation, as well as taking action to address fuel poverty.

North Wales Housing Association is currently working with the Building Research Establishment and pt on a Welsh Assembly sponsored EcoHomes pilot study across Wales.

The award was introduced by pt Director Phil Leach who commended North Wales Housing Association’s work to improve the environmental footprint of new and existing buildings within Wales and the rest of the UK.

Dr. Leach said, "We are delighted to be associated with such an important award that recognises excellence in addressing the challenges of global warming and environmental protection."
