National User Group Conference

pt held its annual National User Group Conference (NUGC) this month, for Lifespan software users. This provides a tremendous opportunity for users and software developers to share information and discuss any current issues and future developments. This year, the conference ‘theme’ was aimed towards energy assessments, RdSAP and the production of EPCs where a number of key challenges were noted, including,

  • Should EPCs be provided before one is necessary or at the point where it is a statutory requirement?
  • Undertaking energy surveys in void properties.
  • Providing an EPC prior to energy efficiency improvement works
  • Providing the capacity for volume demand
  • Putting management processes in place to deal with EPCs
  • Having access to the energy data
  • Linking energy data with maintenance information and decent homes.

The conference was attended by over fifty Lifespan users from Housing Associations and Councils from across the country and was addressed by Alison Mathias from the Housing Corporation, who presented a talk on Ecohomes XB and provided guidance using discussions on sampling and cloning.
