Energy Performance Certificate Pilot Scheme The Housing Corporation has launched a £2bn pilot scheme. This involves 82 Housing Associations from across the UK. Three of these have appointed Property Tectonics (pt) to carry out RdSAP surveys and to produce Energy Performance Certificate’s (EPCs). The scheme offers 50% funding to successful Housing Associations and comes ahead of new legislation that will come into effect in October 2008. This stipulates that all buildings being sold or leased must have an EPC before being marketed. The target is to produce a total of 71,000 EPC’s across the country, which the Housing Corporation anticipates will aid the smooth production of EPC’s when it becomes compulsory. pt have been assessing the energy efficiency of UK homes for the past 15 years and are delighted to be involved with this pilot scheme. It is the only company that has both DEA capability and government approved energy software, Lifespan RdSap. September 2007 |
