He has a senior role in building consultancy north and his current work in accessibility is supported by a degree in sports management which focused on "sport for all" working with disabled young people. Ian currently acts as technical manager for the company’s UKAS accredited asbestos work throughout the business.

A very experienced Chartered Building Surveyor and Chartered Town Planner working in the UK, the far east and Europe. He has considerable experience in housing, building maintenance management and has been involved extensively in the development of the condition survey and appraisal activities in the company having a senior role in the delivery of pt’s asset management services. Malcolm is a committed conservationist with considerable experience in the energy performance of buildings and accessible environments.

Responsibilities include financial management and accounts and related administrative functions across the pt Group; also providing human resource management coordination and support from the centre. Kathryn is company secretary to Corporate Approved Inspector pt Building Standards.

Salma is an experienced Chartered Building Surveyor and registered domestic and commercial energy assessor. She has worked for pt for many years gaining experience in a wide variety of professional services in construction and property. She has a senior role in building consultancy south and her current work in the emerging energy management sector is gaining national recognition. She has been directly involved in the development of the company’s Lifespan proprietary products, especially those relating to energy. Salma represents pt on government committees (CLG) relating to energy assessment and she is a member of the RICS commercial energy assessment working group.

Ian Foster
Associate Director
Ian is a member of CIBSE, a highly experienced mechanical and electrical services engineer who has worked in both public and private sectors. A rare combination of disciplines which is extremely valuable in understanding building services implications. His experience covers the design and specification of schemes for heating, ventilation, air conditioning, power and lighting and covers a variety of building types including hospitals, leisure, commercial and educational buildings. Ian has worked on condition surveys of Building Services installations for Oxford University, leisure centres for London Borough of Islington and many local authorities and commercial organisations. He is also a qualified CDM Coordinator, as well as qualified (BOHS P402) and experienced in building surveying and bulk sampling for asbestos and has become pt’s low carbon consultant.
