London Borough of Lewisham
This project involved the major repair, alteration and refurbishment of nine hostels providing accommodation for homeless persons within the London Borough of Lewisham.
pt was appointed as Lead Consultant, including CDM Co-ordinator and M&E Consultant under the terms of an ongoing 4-year Framework Agreement with the London Borough of Lewisham.
The London Borough of Lewisham had identified a backlog of repair and maintenance works to their high risk persons housing stock. In addition to the above, the size and type of homeless persons accommodation did not meet current and projected requirements with there an identified need to provide larger family-type units, rather than individual rooms. Accordingly, the project also looked to identify where the cost of accommodation could be altered, adapted and refurbished to provide accommodation and facilities for families, as well as single persons.
Initially, we undertook a detailed survey of the properties in order to confirm the condition and extent of repairs, improvements and general backlog maintenance work required.
We undertook measured surveys and prepared existing floor plans in order to identify which units and properties were suitable for alteration and adaptation to provide larger family units.
